HPDL hosts a number of events. Here are a few of the more popular:
Frost Fest
Annual neighborhood festival that takes place at Pearl Park.
Usually held in late-January, this event is a celebration of all that makes
winter "winter" in Minnesota.
Activities typically include fun kid games, adventurous outdoor snow
activities, hot food, beautiful arts and crafts and so much more.
Business Fair
Find out about some of the different businesses that operate in HPDL - from
typical storefronts to home-based businesses. Sponsored by the HPDL Business
Association and held at Hale School in conjunction with
the Hale School Plant Sale.
Earth Day Clean-Up
Traditionally one of the largest neighborhood clean-up events in the city, volunteers gather on a Saturday morning to pick up garbage around Diamond Lake, Pearl Park and Minnehaha Creek. Earth Day 2008 info here. Earth Day Clean-Up 2007 Photos
Bike Rodeo & Safety Fair
Sponsored by the Crime Prevention & Safety Committee, this annual spring
event strives to promote bicycle safety. Have your bike checked for unsafe
conditions by the Minneapolis Police Department, purchase safety equipment at a reduced price and have some
fun racing against neighbors.
Treasure Hunt
Sponsored by the HPDL Business Association, this annual event runs just before
Picnic in the Park. A small rabbit is hidden somewhere on public land in the neighborhood.
Each day, a new clue is revealed at one of the neighborhood businesses. The
person who finds the rabbit gets a raft of great prizes.
Picnic in the Park
This annual neighborhood festival takes place in Pearl Park in mid-July. Everyone is welcome to come and "meet the neighbors" for
some good food, fun games, energetic music, interesting neighborhood
information and much, much more.
